Devotion. Perseverance. Respect. Patience

Traditionally in India, the guru gave the postures one by one to the students when they mastered the previous one when they were ready. There’s so much respect between students and masters in the east and we want to rush so much in the west and change one teacher for another, achieving goals when the body is not ready, yet.

Having a martial arts background as well, I always have a deep respect for my masters and almost all the intermediate serie was taught to me posture by posture over the years. Even in the past couple of years, I have received only two new postures from my master. And I’m happy where I am with my practice today.

At some point, I understood that after the quick advancement at the primary serie, the intermediate and the advanced series really teach us patience and devotion.

Sincere devotion to the tradition and to the masters. 🙏🏼
Om shanti, shanti, shanti.

With my master, Vijay Kumat at Mysore, 2016.
